A little about us...

Alistair Scott set up Captain Carpet in Olney in 1989 and is still driving the business now, surrounded by an experienced team.

We’re very well known in Beds, Bucks and Northants for our serious focus on service. And we support the community we make our living from. In the last year alone we’ve helped several local organisations and charities

We are a registered specialist with the Carpet Foundation and work to a strict code of practice approved by The Office of Fair Trading.

Captain Carpet has been built on referrals and repeat business based on the best service. As one customer said to us: “You’re the thinking man’s John Lewis” – that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said!

Our mission is to make it easy for you to find the carpet you love and get it fitted hassle-free.

We carry huge levels of stock so you’ve got plenty of choice of carpets, vinyl flooring, tiles, planks, screeding and ply boarding.

Some of the products we stock that we’re most proud of include:

• Seagrass floor covering grown in paddy fields and spun into beautiful carpets
• Natural Sisal flooring in different designs and weaves
• Signature realistic embossed wood range flooring from Eletile UK

Our fitters are used to working in many different spaces, from manor houses to small spare bedrooms. They respect your space and never leave a mess for you to clean up.

We really look after our experienced fitters so have a low turnover of staff. And that means they’re happy to go well beyond the call of duty.

It’s not unusual for us to be trusted with house keys and alarm codes, or even taking responsibility for ensuring house bound pets don’t escape! That on top of the things you’d expect from a good fitter, such as moving and returning heavy furniture, and taking old carpet away.
